TCCS - 70 years ago on 30 October 1949, the force of Vietnamese Voluntary Soldiers was officially established. Several generations of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts endured the difficulty, hardship, accepted the sacrifice and fought side by side with the staff and soldiers of Lao People Liberation army and people of Lao ethnic groups, making notable contribution to the victory of Lao revolution in the two resistance wars against French colonists and American imperialists, and enhancing the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

Celebrating the 70^th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts to Laos is the valuable occasion for both sides to remember the special traditional relationship Vietnam-Laos, commemorate and appreciate the great contribution by generations of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts to Laos to the revolutionary cause of the two Parties for the independence and freedom of Vietnam and Laos. It is also the opportunity to educate people, especially young people about the valuable tradition of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

On 28 October 2019, at the Headquarters of the Party Central Committee, Secretary General, State President Nguyen Phu Trong received Lao Secretary General, State President Bounnhang Vorachith and the high-level Lao Party and State delegation to Vietnam for the 70^th Anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese soldiers and experts to Laos.

In the morning of 29 October 2019, in Hanoi, the Central Military Commission - Ministry of Defense solemnly organized the Ceremony for the 70^th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts to Laos (30-10-1949 - 30-10-2019) and awarded the title of the Hero of the people’s armed force. Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairperson Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and Lao Secretary General, State President Bounnhang Vorachith, and State, Party leaders, former leaders and delegates attended the ceremony.

In the afternoon of 29 October 2019, Lao Secretary General, State President Bounnhang Vorachith received the Delegation of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts to Laos. At the meeting, Lao Secretary General, State President Bounnhang Vorachith spoke highly of the role of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and experts to Laos, who had made important achievements and contribution to the previous struggle for independence and the current construction and development of Laos.
