Communist Review - After four decades of Doi Moi (Renewal) and intensive and extensive international integration, the further promotion of national identity, fine values, and the image of Vietnam, its land and people on the international stage has become a strategic imperative. The Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese State regard diplomacy as one of the key pillars for safeguarding the Fatherland early and from afar. Within this framework, cultural diplomacy, together with political diplomacy and economic diplomacy, forms three pillars of external relations activities. Cultural diplomacy serves not only as a means of implementing the country's foreign policy but also as a means of promoting national identity, fine values, and the image of Vietnam and its land and people to international friends.
