The 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam convened its 6th plenum from October 1st to 15th, 2012, in Hanoi (the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) as part of its entire tenure’s work program.

The plenum aimed to discuss reports and projects related to Vietnam’s socio-economic situation in 2012; socio-economic plans and state budget estimates for 2013; continued restructuring and reform of state-owned enterprises to enhance their operational efficiency; reform of land-related laws and policies; fundamental and comprehensive reform of education and training; development of science and technology; planning of the Party Central Committee; the Politburo, the Secretariat, and key positions of Vietnam’s Communist Party and State; the establishment of the Party Central Committee’s Economics Commission; reports on the results of self-criticism and criticism of the collective and individuals in Politburo and the Secretariat in line with the resolution of the 4th plenum of the 11th Party Central Committee called “Urgent issues on party building at present”, and a number of other important issues. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, chaired and delivered the opening and closing speeches for the meeting.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam called on the Party, the people and the army to strengthen unity and make every effort to overcome difficulties and challenges to continue successfully implementing the resolutions of the 11th National Party Congress, the 4th plenum of the 11th Party Central Committee, other resolutions and conclusions of the Party Central Committee, and socio-economic development plans for 2012 and 2013./.
